All Change at the Top

W.Bro Mason
With the announcement at the latter part of last year that our W.Bro Roger Croome QPM, Pro Provincial Grand Master was to retire at the next  Provincial meeting in May. It was open to speculation who would be his successor, but it didn't take too long before it was announced that W.Bro Alastair Mason, Dep Provincial Grand Master,  would be his replacement. Alastair is a superb ritualist and is well versed in the running of the Province.
W.Bro Thoday
But then , the next question was "who will be his replacement" ? At the recent meeting of Middlesex Masters Lodge (Harrow) a couple of days ago, Alastair had the pleasure in announcing that W.Bro Simon Thoday APGM would be appointed the new DepProGM at the Provincial Meeting in May and that W.Bro Barry Cramer PProvDepGDC, would be appointed the new APGM.
Our hearty congratulations must go to Alastair, Simon and Barry on their appointments and we at North Harrow wish them well, as do, I am sure the rest of the Province.
Onward and upward !!!!

North Harrow moves forward in 2014

Our New Master Mason
Our last meeting on Friday 17th January was another first for North Harrow for a number of  reasons.
1. At our installation meeting last October, we installed Bro Vaughan Coleridge-Matthews as Worshipful Master of the Lodge. He was the first Master since 2001, that's 13 years ago, to be installed for the first time.
2. At the January meeting W.Bro Vaughan performed the Raising Ceremony for Bro Mark Romero, one of two of our "Lewis" in an outstanding manner, this also was the first 3rd Degree to be performed at a Regular meeting since the W.Bro Vaughan was raised in 2008.
The Full Festive Board
3. Having increased our membership by almost 22 in the last three years to a current number of  36, it was a pleasure to have so many eager new members wanting to perform pieces of ritual at the meeting, so the traditional history was split for the first time into 5 parts, which enabled nearly all prices to be performed by lay brethren. All performing their ritual word perfectly. A special mention must be given to Pratik and Derek who shared the first part of  the Traditional History, Saeed who delivered the Alternative Signs, Simon the Tracing Board and the star, Srdjan the Working Tools. An impressive show for our Visiting Officer on his official visit.
4. The festive board was one of the largest experienced in recent times which saw 39 members and guests tuck into an exceptional meal, this was a far cry from the levels of three years ago when we were lucky to have had 20.
Some of the Stars of the show
Excellent ritual in the Temple, an excellent festive board, full of fun and fellowship.
Bro Secretary ready
to eat his hat !!!
So what next : At the March meeting we are to perform a Second Degree, which will again  involve many of our lay brethren and in May another initiation..........

That's what North Harrow does best !! Long may it continue.
